Dedication

I know a young fellow, he’s a very good friend,

It was at his insistence that I did begin

To explore the strange world of components and such,

Thus opening a door that means so much,

Turning a dream into reality

With possible publication of my poetry.

He counseled the shopping and delivered the stock.

Set up components – then made them talk.

Showed me the basics and left me to play –

Told me to call him at the end of the day.

Call him I did with the troubles I had.

He assured me that they were not so bad.

He’s spent so much time in helping me to learn,

It’s a favor I’ll never be able to return.

So if ever my poetry in print you see,

It’ll be a tribute to him, as well as to me.

Thanks, John

A short time later I met a customer of our coffee shop.

He seemed to enjoy my writing, gave me encouragement.

He challenged me, “Try this.  You can do it.  I know you

can.”  He gave me confidence.  He became my mentor, my

friend.  Thank you, Mr. Marley.

Thanks also to the many friends, and strangers, too,

who have overheard, or in the conversation of others, their

stories told, thus giving me material for a new piece.

Thank you all.
