This year before I go to vote,
I pray to the Lord, and this I quote –
“Help me, Lord, make a wise selection
On this day of our election.
Pick the right man to guide our nation,
Lead us from this dark tribulation.
One who will feed the poor and help the needy,
Lord, we don’t need someone who’s greedy.
Just one who will give us jobs, so we can earn.
Teachers in schools so our children can learn.
Health care for those who are hurting and sick
Lord, I pray, please help me to pick
A leader who is not afraid to ask
Your guidance before he starts his task,
A leader who with blessed foresight,
Will give us back our true birthright”
Lord, thank you.
